The legendary D-type, successor to the C-type and evolved from C/D prototype, was first seen at the private Le Mans test session early in1954. The superb body styling was the work of Jaguar’s aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, and was the result of extensive wind-tunnel testing with one-tenth scale models.
