Jaguar ready to return to Le Mans

Ratan Tata, current owner of the brand, has announced that the company is studying a return to competition, in grand style, with an LMP2 prototype that could race in the classic Le Mans 24 hours. Jaguar last won Le Mans  in 1990 with Jaguar XJR-12  – M.Brundle, J.Nielsen, P.Cobb (GB,DK,USA) 3040.7 mph, 126.69 mph/h.

Mr Tata added “Jaguar has lost its sheen over the years and the marque has suffered. Despite this, it has a very loyal customer and dealer base spread across various countries. Both Jaguar and Land Rover have tremendous engineering capabilities, and now it is upon us to keep it together.”
